Class Notes: “Black Mirrors: The Art and Impact of Social Science Fiction Films” Rather than fancy gadgets and distant galaxies, social sci-fi presents speculative futures and alternative presents to examine the problems and preoccupations of the world we live in. This course covers the cinematic artistry and sociological significance of some classic (and cult-classic) examples of the genre from the 1980s to the present.
