Department: Engineering, Mechanical
Description: This course covers the relationship between the structure, properties, processing, and performance of materials. Metals and their alloys are covered in detail; ceramics, polymers and composites are introduced in the course. Key topics include mechanical properties, thermodynamics, phase diagrams, material defects, and the structure-property relationships that govern material behavior.
