Department: Geography, Geology, and the Environment
Description: Intensive study in a special area of the advanced student's interest under a qualified member of the faculty. Each individual investigation is to culminate in a comprehensive written report and/or examination. Open only to graduate students who have completed considerable work in a degree program, who are in good academic standing and who have demonstrated ability to profit from independent study. A maximum of 9 hours total credits from the course group 393/397/400/493/498 may count toward a master's degree. Within that 9 hours, no more than 6 may come from 400.
